Hi, very happy to see this poster as there is not much research in this area! Thank you for sharing. Did you also examine gender differences in your study? What percentage of females acknowledged sending unsolicited images, and did they have different motivations compared to males?

Hi Sarah,

Thank you for your kind comment!

I did examine gender differences in prevalence of sending unsolicited sexual images, but I have not yet analyzed gender differences in motivation. When gender differences were examined, it was found that a larger proportion of females reported having sent an unsolicited sexual image than males.

Regarding this gender difference finding, please note that this study also examined the sending of unwanted unsolicited sexual images; however due to the low number of people who reported having sent this type of unsolicited sexual image the findings regarding motivations were not discussed on this poster. Therefore, when gender differences were examined, a combined unsolicited sexual image variable was used which indicated whether a participant had sent at least one type (i.e., unrequested, unwanted) unsolicited sexual image.

I hope this helps!
